Art directed AI Clouds and sky for Little Ceasars Superbowl spot

For a shot in the recent popular superbowl spot for Little Cesars, we needed some clouds going by, and we didn’t want to simply have a couple of layers of 2D clouds.

So, I used the amazing Terragen to art direct the sun, clouds, atmosphere, animaiton and camera movements

However, as I had to run it local I couldn’t take advantage of a render farm, I set the quality to low. As we didn’t know the length of the edit, I had to play safe. However, if I had put the quality to high it could have taken too long to render

So, I too 3 rendered frames from Terragen, Frame 0, 65 and 170, (for the beginning, middle and end) and used them as keyframes inside Runway.ml. I let it interpolate, and the results were amazing.

Now, we had to do a few attempts to keep the camera from changing altitude, but I eventually got some sunning sections .

By using a few traditional tools and a few AI tools, I was able to art direct, and animate a sky filled with moving clouds, atmosphere and sun, and get an interpolated Ai verison of around 200 frames, in less than 10 minutes.
